KULR Technology Group, Inc. was founded by some of the foremost experts in energy, thermal management, semiconductor and industrial manufacturing. Our investors and advisors include industry leaders from the US, Japan, and China, all from a variety of different fields, including electric vehicles, communications, energy management, and semiconductors.

MICHAEL MO

Chief Executive Officer

Mr. Mo is a technology entrepreneur and successful investor with over 20 years of experience in technology management, product development and marketing. From 2007 to 2015, Mr. Mo served as Senior Director of Business Development at Amlogic, Inc. Prior to Amlogic, he was co-founder and CEO of Sympeer Technology, a peer-to-peer network company. Mr. Mo received a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from UC Santa Barbara in 1995.

DR. TIMOTHY KNOWLES

Chief Technology Officer

Dr. Knowles has over 30 years of thermal management R&D experience having led teams that developed high-performance thermal management products for numerous high-caliber aerospace and industrial applications. Previously, he served as president of Energy Science Laboratories, where his team developed the core Carbon Fiber Cooling technology utilized in KULR’s products today. Dr. Knowles received a Ph.D. in Physics from UC San Diego in 1977.

SIMON WESTBROOK

Chief Financial Officer

In 2009, Mr. Westbrook founded Aargo, Inc., a company specializing in financial consulting services to corporations in various tech-related industries. Prior to Aargo, Mr. Westbrook was CFO of Amber Networks, Inc., and the Chief Financial Officer of Sage, Inc. (NASDAQ: SAGI), a Silicon Valley company specializing in flat panel displays. Before Sage, Mr. Westbrook held senior level financial positions at Creative Technology (NASDAQ: CREAF) and Atari Corp (AMEX: ATC). Simon is a Chartered Accountant and holds a Master’s degree in Economics from Trinity College, Cambridge University.

MICHAEL G. CARPENTER

Vice President of Engineering

Mr. Carpenter was former Director and Safety Officer of Energy Science Laboratories PCM Heatsink Group. He also served as Quality Manager and Facility Security Officer in the Defense Industrial Security Program from 1988 to 1995. Mr. Carpenter received a B.S. in Applied Mechanics from UC San Diego in 1983.

SARA FEULNER

Vice President of Human Resources

Ms. Feulner has 20 years of HR and Operations experience in the technology industry. The majority of her career was spent at ARM as the Global Vice President of Human Resources. During her tenure the organization grew from 500 to 3000 employees and $100M to over $1Bn in revenue. She has lived and worked internationally and now specializes in leading edge HR and operations consulting for small to medium size tech companies. Sara is an alumnus of Harvard Business School’s Program for Leadership Development and holds a Master’s Degree from Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas.

MR. XIA ZUOQUAN
Co-founder of BYD Co. Ltd. and Zhengxuan Capital

Mr. Xia is a co-founder of BYD, one of the world’s largest rechargeable battery makers and the largest in China. BYD’s largest equity holder is Berkshire Hathaway and a BYD subsidiary, BYD Auto, makes automobiles, buses, forklifts, and trucks. In 2016, BYD Auto was the world’s top selling plug-in electric car manufacturer and announced a joint venture with Daimler AG to build electric cars. In addition to his leadership with BYD, Mr. Xia founded Zhengxuan Capital in 2004, an investment firm with more than 10 billion RMB ($1.5 billion USD) assets under management. Among the more than 30 investments under Zhengxuan, he is a Director and early investor in UBTech, the world’s most valuable consumer robotics company with a $5B valuation. Mr. Xia was named to the 2018 Forbes China Rich List, with an estimated net worth of $1.1 billion USD.

MR. XIA ZHONGRUI
Former President of Hua Hong Micro-Electronics Corporation

Mr. Xia has more than 30 years’ experience in Information Technology (IT) in China. He was responsible for the planning and construction of the Shanghai government computer system and promoting IT throughout greater mainland China. In 1995, he was named Director of the Information Office of the Shanghai municipal government. Mr. Xia also organized and served as the first president of the Hua Hong Group, which included Hua Hong Micro-Electronics Corporation and Hua Hong Design Corporation, where he coordinated the development of the NEC project, China’s first 8-inch semiconductor processing line. Currently, he serves as Chairman of Ruizhang Technology Co., Ltd., President of Hua Hong International USA LLC, and Vice President of Hua Hong Group. Mr. Xia holds a Bachelor in Economics from Shanghai Fudan University.

MR. MORIO KUROSAKI
President of IT-Farm Corporation in Japan

Mr. Kurosaki started his business career at Intel Japan. Later he joined Western Digital Corporation as one of the earliest members of WDC’s Japanese division. In 1988 he founded Aisys Corporation, a firm helping Silicon Valley start-ups gain exposure to Japanese markets. Aisys has helped numerous companies establish business ties in Japan, including arranging strategic partnerships with major Japanese corporations and recruiting local management. In 1999, he founded IT-Farm as one of a few hands-on style venture capital firms in Japan. Mr. Kurosaki has also served as project manager of the Unexplored Technology Project under the Information Technology Program Agency (part of METI), APAC advisory member of ARM, advisor for Nvidia Japan, and board director of Treasure Data (Silicon Valley), Ubitus (Taiwan), Gaiax (Japan), and GES (Silicon Valley and Vietnam).

DR. GANG CHEN
Head of the Department of Mechanical Engineering and Carl Richard Soderberg Professor of Power Engineering at MIT

Dr. Chen is the Director of the Solid-State Solar-Thermal Energy Conversion Center (S3TEC Center), an Energy Frontier Research Center funded by the US Department of Energy. He received a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from UC Berkeley in 1993. Dr. Chen is currently a tenured professor and Head of the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He has received an NSF Young Investigator award, R&D 100 award and an American Society of Mechanical Engineers Heat Transfer Memorial award. In 2010, he was elected as a member of the US National Academy of Engineering.
