KULR Technology is seeking a Mechanical Technician to support the company in following detailed lab processes and procedures in working with prototypes and commercial hardware. The Technician will combine manual dexterity, attention to detail, and use of hand and power tools in a range of fabrication processes and must be able to use a variety of machine and lab equipment in carrying out responsibilities. 

Essential Duties And Responsibilities: 

  • Responsible for fabricating and/or modifying experimental or commercial hardware in conjunction with prototype and lab processes. Will also follow documentation requirements, both in creating and updating documentation. 
  • Execute sets of laboratory tests or functions such as performance and reliability testing. Assembles new product designs and processes requiring the ability to understand and possibly modify CAD drawings. 
  • Modify and build prototypes. 
  • Collect records, reduce summarize and maintain data on all new processes and effectively communicate information to engineers.
  •  Assist in the transition from prototype to production. 
  • Resolve multiple types of machine issues which involves troubleshooting skills pertaining to hydraulics, mechanical and software. 
  • Use appropriate test equipment to isolate problems and make repairs in a timely manner. 
  • Verify dimensions of parts, using precision measuring instruments, to ensure that specifications are met. 
  • Operate metalworking machines to make housings, fittings, and fixtures. 
  • Analyze and record test results and prepare written documentation. 
  • Other duties as assigned. 

Education And/Or Experience: 

  • Minimum 3-5 years of relevant experience
  • High School Diploma
  • Community College coursework in Machining, Electro-mechanics/mechatronics, Industrial Maintenance, and Process Control
  • Desirable experience includes experience working with ERP systems, working in an ISO9000 (or similar) manufacturing operation, and an associate’s degree in a relevant field. 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: 

  • Possess a very good mechanical aptitude and a good understanding of basic PC architecture and peripheral devices. 
  • Possess math aptitude and be able to convert between decimals and fractions, and convert between imperial and metric units. 
  • Experience with chemical handling and the ability to work in lab environment and around systems which have high pressure and high voltage and other such hazards. 
  • Ability to perform complex assignments with minimum direction and have the judgment to consult with others as needed. 
  • Experience in the use of a lathe, milling machine and/or drill press preferred.  
  • Organizational and recordkeeping skills.  
  • Possess knowledge of computer operations and application pertinent to the field required, including MS Word and Excel. 
  • Experience with CAD and Solid Works preferred

  • Pay: $21.00 – $32.00 per hour
