Production Supervisor

POSITION SUMMARY

As a Production Supervisor, you will be playing a critical role on the Operations team by planning and managing the day-to-day allocation of resources in order to efficiently, safely, and cost effectively achieve performance targets.  You will lead and grow a team of Technicians and Assemblers and work cross-functionally with Ops, Engineering, and Quality, and Supply Chain teams to ensure production goals are being met.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for planning, scheduling, and managing general operations of the production team comprised of technicians and assemblers. 
  • Build a strong, motivated production team capable of consistently delivering high quality products against aggressive production targets
  • Empower the production team to collaborate with engineering to improve product manufacturability and line productivity
  • Develop training programs and hiring plans for assembly team members
  • Support issue resolution including root cause investigation & corrective action tracking
  • Ensure quality standards are being met throughout the entire production process and support no defects from leaving a station or team area
  • Develop & maintain Standardized Manufacturing Instructions used in production assembly by the assembly team members
  • Lead a variety of Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) assurance functions, including ensuring their teams’ safety training is current, documenting hazards and incidents, proactively correcting workplace hazards in the areas, and empowering others to continuously improve operations.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS       

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • 3+ years of experience managing teams of people in a high-volume manufacturing setting preferred
  • Experience in selecting and developing new team members
  • Ability to work with and develop production performance metrics (efficiency, quality, safety, throughput, costs)
  • Able to work well under pressure while managing competing demands and tight deadlines
  • Communicate clearly using excellent written and verbal skills; able to interface cross-functionally on a daily basis
  • Strong organization skills with meticulous attention to detail
  • Fluent with common MS office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to work a flexible shift, including second shift, if necessary

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Standing for long periods of time, climbing up and down ladders, bending, grasping, sitting, pulling, pushing, stooping, and stretching are generally required to perform the functions of this position
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs unassisted
